Official STATEC survey on income and living conditions of households in Luxembourg (SILC)
The survey on household income and living conditions tracks changes in the income and living conditions of the Luxembourg population year after year. It is therefore a valuable source of information for the implementation of policies to combat poverty, inequality and social exclusion in Luxembourg.
In 2025, 8,500 households have been randomly selected from the Register of Natural Persons (RNPP) to complete the questionnaire for four consecutive years.
Since 2024, ILRES has been commissioned by STATEC to conduct face-to-face and telephone interviews with the new households selected this year and with households that had responded by telephone the previous year.
Households have also been selected to complete the online questionnaire directly on MyGuichet :STATEC is responsible for this part of the survey.
Questionnaire
The questionnaire consists of questions on the household, housing, work and employment status, income, well-being, health, energy and the environment. Thanks to the participation of these many households, it is possible not only to paint a picture of the current living situation of the population, but also to track changes over time.
Conducted in all European Union countries, the SILC survey enables a comparison of household living conditions at the European level.
